Ad-tagirl Sonam!

Move it Daddy: Sonam Kapoor
After repeatedly refusing endorsements for over two decades of his career, Anil Kapoor has finally taken the bait. It is reliably learnt that the actor-producer has been offered an attractive endorsement deal that he is seriously considering.

What has made him do a rethink about doing commercials and modelling is his daughter Sonam. After her debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya, the newbie was offered endorsement deals and some of them wanted her along with daddy dearest.

Kabhi nahin

Anil, was probably the only B-Town star, who had repeatedly maintained over the years that he never considered himself a commodity. He would vehemently state in all his interviews that he did not believe in the ad film culture.

According to him, an actor was better off on the screen; that is how he wanted the audience to remember him for the various characters he essayed.

Selling colas and vests were not for him. Even attractive remunerations did not lure the actor and he stuck to his stand.

Admits Anil, “It’s true I have always refused advertisements until now. But now I am open to them. Sonam and I have been offered a lot of ads together and I am considering them for the first time.”

With almost all leading B-Town stars on the endorsement bandwagon, it was only a matter of time before Anil, too, became a part of the ad world.

“We haven’t closed in on any ad as of now, but it’s definitely a possibility soon,” adds Anil who will soon be seen in Subhash Ghai’s Black & White and Abbas Mustaan’s Race.
